Baby Maelynn

May 6, 2010

As I mentioned yesterday, we were on a grand adventure over the weekend.  And one of the many super-awesome people we saw over the weekend was our sweet niece, Maelynn.  At 7 months, she is just the cutest little thing.  Seriously.

We picked up Maelynn and her mama on Friday, and together with Jason’s mom, we hit the mall!  I love shopping so much…

Jason also loved the trip – mostly because he could have his beloved Chik-fil-a for lunch.  He misses Chik-fil-a and HAS TO eat there every time we visit Jersey.  Chik-fil-a nuggets, Chipotle burritos, and panzerottis (pizza folded in half and deep-fried) are his trifecta of awesomeness – and he can’t get any of the above near where we live.

After finding Jason a new suit & tie (PS we found a $500 suit on sale for $112 – thank you, Macy’s!), we ventured out into rush hour Philly traffic to meet Jason’s dad for dinner.  Jason mentioned that “this is why he lives in the midwest” no less than 462 times, and if I were his mom (you know, the one living in the area and hoping her son will move close to home), I probably would have smacked him.  Lucky for Jason, though, Debbie has much more restraint than I do!

Maezie entertained us at dinner… that is, until Jason found a wire! in his nachos, scoring us a free round of drinks.  At that point, I think this sweet baby girl was ready to sleep – she sat in her momma’s arms all cuddled up for the rest of the meal.

It’s crazy to see how much she’s grown since we last saw her (November!).  She’s such a big girl now!

It’s also crazy to see how much this little one loves her momma.  Maezie adores Bridget, and for good reason – Bridget is such a great mom.  She’s so relaxed and calm, and just adores her baby (I know – who wouldn’t adore this little one?).

Do you love the elephant pjs as much as I do?

Believe it or not, these pictures were taken at about 10pm.  This little one was so smiley!

It was at this point that Jason and I plotted to kidnap Maezie and bring her back to Michigan with us.

Solidifying our kidnapping decision was the fact that she was intrigued by her doggy cousins.

Jezebel wanted to do nothing more than lick the baby all over, but Barley?  The second Jason held up Maelynn to him, he rolled over and submitted.  Which, I kind of think means that our 75-lb pitbull mix is afraid of this happy 20-lb baby girl.  Classic, Barley.  Classic.

Great pictures, Jen! I am the first to admit how beautiful the subject is (it’s my right as a proud Grammy ) but you really did her justice with the great photography!
She does love her doggie cousins and they love her!
The fact that Jason has to have all those foods he can’t get at home saves me a lot of cooking but you poor thing never get any decent real food.
Thanks for a great visit; always fun with you guys! I’m glad you had a safe trip back.
