2010 Goals

January 1, 2010

Every New Year, I insist that J and I make goals.  And, in 2009, we didn’t do so hot.  Oops.

Jen’s 2009 Goals

  • Reduce sugar intake to levels comparable to normal people – I’ve recently begun doing this.
  • Workout at least 4 times/week – FAIL… unless walking the dogs counts.
  • Find a local church to attend – HUGE FAIL
  • Organize a dinner date with friends at least once/month – Success!  (with the help of awesome new friends)
  • Reduce, reuse, recycle! figure out what we don’t use and reuse/repurpose it or give it to someone that can use it. Success!

Jason’s 2009 Goals

  • Reduce soda intake to just a few a week – moderate success
  • Increase water intake (a parallel to the aforementioned goal) – success
  • Workout on a somewhat regular basis – meh.  does once/week soccer count?
  • Find more dinners to cook – FAIL
  • Put more effort into the house goals – success
  • Brew at least one batch of beer each month – FAIL

2009 House Goals can be found here, but we’ll just say that the unexpected move threw a wrench in our home repair plans.

And, for the next year:

Jen’s 2010 Goals

  • Workout 3-4 times/week
  • Find a local church to attend
  • Cook at least 2 new dishes each month
  • Get caught up on our scrapbooking/photo organization

Jason’s 2010 Goals

  • Brew at least one batch of beer each month
  • Ride bike 3x/week
  • Put the dogs on a grooming regimen (i.e., regularly clip nails + brush teeth)

2010 Household Goals

  • Make a reasonable budget and stick to it
  • Set up a garden and grow our own fruits/veggies
  • Put in hardwood floors on our first floor
  • Redo 1/2 bath
  • Redo laundry room
  • Dress up the green + yellow bedrooms

We’re anticipating a busy and exciting 2010!  How about you?

I like how you do personal goals and then house goals. I’ve figured out my three resolutions (lose 100 pounds, which entails working out and eating healthy and drinking more water) (do ten minutes of yoga every day) (quit saying yes to social things I don’t want to do) but I need to sit down with my husband and figure out house goals!

    Happy New Year!

When it comes to getting more exercise, climbing up and down off of ladders DEFINITELY counts!

You are lucky that you got your hubby to set some goals! lol. It’s like pulling teeth to get Clint to commit to goals. I look forward to seeing all your changes for the New Year!
